Your production coordinator
in Jamaica
Easy-going life in the beach hammock, Bob Marley’s home, the port that housed the most vicious pirates, former plantation houses, and lighthouses. Our production coordinator in Jamaica can help you capture it all. If you are looking for a journalist fixer to arrange interviews for you with locals who embody the spirit of Jamaica, you must work with us. We have uncovered inspirational entrepreneurs and curious people of interest, in any of the below locations:

Kingston
Our production coordinator in Jamaica considers The Bob Marley Museum a must. Bob Marley’s home and recording studio still has the bullet holes from his attempted murder. The richest and wickedest city in the world, Port Royal is a notorious 17th-century pirate haven. A strong earthquake moved much of the city into the sea, establishing Kingston as the new capital. Our location scout can show you the original buildings that remain – the walls of Fort Charles, Saint Peter’s Church, and the ruins of Fort Rocky.
Saint Thomas
Just google photos of Zion Country Eco Beach Cabins for a sample of the laid-back lifestyle in Surrey County’s parish. Throw a line and catch a fish, snorkel in the turquoise and green-blue waters, see a dolphin or a manatee or just drink a beer with a local.
Our production coordinator in Jamaica recommends Morant Point Lighthouse, as off the beaten track as it gets. You can reach it after a slow drive through a cane field, filled with cows, goats, pelicans, and mosquitoes.

Saint Thomas

Clarendon
The parish is predominantly a wide plain, marked by several rivers, including the Rio Minho, which runs the length of the parish, just like our journalist fixer will, to get you outstanding leads. Toward the northern end of the parish lies the Mocho Mountains and Bull Head Mountain range, the geographical center of the island. Portland Point, the southernmost point also hosts Portland Point Lighthouse. Some highlights of the area are Jackson Bay beach and the closed American Air Force Base at Vernam.
Negril
Negril is a widely dispersed beach resort town, with a small population. It is a slice of Jamaican culture, resorts, and white-sand beaches. While you are here, we recommend you try Sugar Cane, Coconut Jelly/Meat, and Jerk Chicken. Our location scout loves Rick’s Cafe, known for the cliffside it is built upon. Tourists can take a courageous leap into the Caribbean Sea below. It has been rated one of the Top Ten Bars in the World.

Montego Bay
The Hip Strip is a busy street of colorful souvenir shops. Our production coordinator in Jamaica does not particularly like coming here due to the pushiness of the vendors but will do an exception for you. Instead, they prefer Greenwood Great House as a set. Our location scouting services have uncovered the elegant 19th-century atmosphere retained here. Unique among local plantation houses, Greenwood survived unscathed during the slave rebellion of Christmas 1831, with original furniture and a large collection of musical instruments and books.
Hiring a location scout in Jamaica
Shooting in any of the above locations is an incredible way to explore the Jamaican culture and its eccentricities, but if they should choose one place you need to see, our production coordinator in Jamaica would say it is Lime Cay. It is a beach off the coast of Port Royale which you can get to by boat. The tiny island is famous as the location for the final scene in The Harder they Come.
It is a crowded party spot on the weekends with food and drinks available for purchase and becomes much more sedate and often deserted on weekdays. You can camp overnight if you pre-arrange a next-day pickup time. For this and other incredible shooting locations tailored to meet your needs, please contact us. At Fixer Jamaica, we will find you an incredible spot to bring your scenario to life or serve as an incredible commercial backdrop.
